Sheffer, revivalist, in a forceful message to a large crowd at Linden Avenue Christian Church last night. “The beautiful water lily, the symbol of beauty and purity grows to its brilliancy in the midst of the dirtiest of slime,” said the speaker in an eloquent natural comparison. Dr. Sheffer left Memphis nine years ago. Prior to that time he had been pastor for 16 years of the church in which he is now conducting the revival.
