Cops: Property dispute led to shooting; hunt for suspect continues

POTTSTOWN >> Police believe Nov. 1’s shooting that left one man seriously injured was the result of a property dispute.

The victim of a shooting that took place at around 2:40 p.m. Nov. 1 in a garage at the rear of 47 King St. has been identified as Robert Pfanders, 48, of Pottstown, according to Pottstown Police Capt. Robert Thomas.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Bobby Brown, 40, of Norristown, Capt. Thomas stated in a release.

Police did not give details about the argument that led to the shooting but stated that the shooting is believed to be the result of property dispute between the two men.

After police received the call, they arrived at the scene to find one man injured with gunshots to his extremities and upper body. He was taken from the scene by Goodwill Ambulance and later airlifted from Pottstown Memorial Medical Center to Lehigh Valley Hospital, near Allentown, which has a trauma center.

He was last listed in critical condition.

A warrant has been issued for Brown and he is being charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of a firearm prohibited, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a weapon and possession of an instrument of crime with intent.
