Bear Cubs claim Berks County League’s regular season crown

On the shoulders of five separate pitchers, the Boyertown Bear Cubs combined for a three-hitter on the way to claiming the Berks County League regular season title with an 8-1 win over Fleetwood on Thursday July 6.

Daniel Goffredo picked up the win with a scoreless inning as Boyertown crossed a pair of runs in each of the first three innings then added solo tallies in the fourth and fifth.

Trey Yesavage and Goffredo finished with a hit and two runs scored while Sammy Legerton and Hunter Ewing each had a hit and a run scored. Tre Digugliemlo and Tanner McCafferty each had a hit and an RBI.

The win earns the Bear Cubs a spot in the Junior Legion Regionals in Berwick

0» Barret Dunkelberger took a no-hitter into the final inning where he was tagged with two hits on the way to a shutout win over Avon Grove on Wednesday, July 5.

Ben Longacre and Nick Chroscinski opened up the scoring with back to back home runs during the first inning before the Indians added four more runs in the fifth. Longacre had a pair of homers while Victor Feliz also knocked a long ball in the sixth inning as Pine Forge racked up 13 hits on the night.

Logan Mabry picked up the win scattering one run on six hits across all seven innings. After scoring two runs during the second inning, Pine Forge blew it open during the fourth with RBI singles from Ryan Jacobs, Sam Longacre and Daniel Monzo.
