Award-winning illustrator, graphic designer Craig Schaffer discusses his career as an illustrator
Award-winning illustrator, graphic designer, and newspaper columnist Craig Schaffer will be at the Exeter Community Library at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15, to discuss his career as an illustrator.
He will detail the recent creation and publication of his original superhero comic book “Backdraft.”
Schaffer is a graduate of the Montserrat College of Art and is a Bucks County native whose illustrated columns, Snapshot and Sketchbook, appear weekly in the Reading Eagle.
The library event won’t be Schaffer’s first foray into public speaking. He’s spoken at area colleges and universities about the history of publishing, and he frequently visits elementary schools to talk about the importance of nature and art.
The family-friendly event is free and open to the public, though attendees are asked to call the library at 610-4069431 to register. Schaffer’s work can be seen and purchased on his website at www.craig-schaffer.com, but copies of “Backdraft” will also be available for purchase during the event on Thursday at the Exeter Community Library at 4569 Prestwick Dr., Reading, 19606.
The Art of Illustration is one of many free events offered to the public through a partnership between program presenters, Friends of the Exeter Community Library, and The Exeter Community Library.
