Craft Fair: The Sanatoga Fire Company Auxiliary will hold a craft fair Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sanatoga Fire Company, 2222 E. High St., Sanatoga. The event will feature crafts, baked goods and home made soups. Lunch will be served.
Adoption and Foster Care Information Session: Diakon Adoption & Foster Care will present a free informational session on adoption and child and youth foster care Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at Manatawny Manor, 30 Old Schuylkill Road, Pottstown. Diakon staff will explain foster parenting, as well as the processes involved in adopting or fosteringto-adopt a child or youth. Pottstown Area Artists Guild
Talk: The Pottstown Area Artists Guild will sponsor a talk by artist Lisa Muller Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Boyer Gallery at The Hill School Center For The Arts, 760 Beech St., Pottstown. Muller will talk a little about the transition from ceramics to painting addressing technique, materials and concept. She will share images of the twisting path a painting takes on its way to completion. Ideas of mess making, geometry, the gift of blind alleys, accidental meaning, and fluctuating confidence in the process will come up, along with the importance of methods that insure the unexpected. This event is free and open to the public.
Pottstown Area Garden Club: meets on the first Friday of each month at St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 E. High St., Pottstown at 11:30 a.m. The club is open to anyone interested in all aspects of gardening, including opportunities for further education in horticulture, floral and landscape design, garden study and flower show schools.
PMMC Offering Free Child Care Safety Check: Pottstown Memorial Medical Center is offering free car seat safety checks on the third Friday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goodwill Ambulance Company, 714 E. High St., Pottstown. Child Certified Passenger Safety Technicians and trained volunteers will check child car seats for: recalls and damage; best fit for weight, height, and age; and will teach installation techniques. Celebrate Recovery: The newest ministry at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Drive, Pottstown, will “Celebrate Recovery” through meetings every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery deals with Hurts, Hang Ups, and yes Habits. It is a twelve step program, unlike other programs we know who our “higher power” is, the one and only God and it is biblically based. We will honor Jesus and Praise Him. All of the studies will emphasize forgiveness and salvation. The “Eight Principles” are based on the Beatitudes for the purpose of leading all who attend on the path toward recovery.
