THE FACTS

DEFENDANT: Charmaen Wright, of the 500 block of Cherry Street, Norristown. Wright also listed an address in the 300 block of Walnut Street in Pottstown.

CRIME: During am April 2018 trial, a jury convicted Wright of charges of aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime in connection with the 3:30 a.m. May 27, 2017, stabbing of another woman in the 500 block of Green Street in Norristown.

SENTENCE: Montgomery County Judge Wendy G. Rothstein sentenced Wright to 5-to-10 years in state prison, followed by five years’ probation, meaning Wright will be under court supervision for 15 years. Wright was ordered to have no contact with the victim and her family.
