Pottstown, Phoenixville hospitals present staff with awards for excellence
Pottstown and Phoenixville hospitals recently presented Nursing Excellence Awards to nurses, nursing support staff and colleagues, to recognize their contributions to excellence. The awards were presented during Nursing Week, May 6 through May 12.
In addition to recognizing excellence in clinical practice, the awards recognize quality, safety, collaboration, leadership, compassion, and education.
“The awards are a chance to celebrate the accomplishments and share the stories of nurses at Pottstown Hospital,” Ann Blankenhorn, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC and vice president and chief nursing officer at Pottstown Hospital, said in a press release announcing the awards. “Individual nurses, support staff, and teams were nominated by colleagues who submitted stories, cards, letters, unit outcomes, and other evidence to provide examples of the how the nominee exemplifies the award.”

for Each Nursing hospital Award asked nominations earlier this year. The nursing individuals or teams recognized “exemplify a commitment” to professionalism, professional development, achievement of organizational outcomes, advancement of nursing clinical and professional practice excellence, and contributions that support health system mission, vision, standards, and strategic priorities at the hospitals. Award winners were chosen by a committee of their peers.
