21-7 victory made by the Pirates little league team

A 12-run third innings by the Pirates little league baseball team allowed them to pull away for a 21-7 victory over the White Sox team in four innings.

In the third inning Brodin Craft led off by drawing a walk and went to second on a wild pitch. After a walk and a hit batter loaded the bases, two walks and a hit batter scored three runs. A strikeout was followed by a single from Tyler McDermitt that scored two more runs.

A ground out scored another run. McDermitt went to third on a wald pitch and Rylan Hughes drew a walk. Craft walked to reload the bases and a fielder’s choice hit scored McDermitt. Three more walks led to three runs and a double by Cain Christophe­r lead to two more runs that scored. The inning ended on a strikeout to make the score 21-4.

The White Sox scored three runs of their own in the bottom of the third inning.

With one out, Carter Shadrack walked and stole second. After a walk to Eli Holsinger, Evan Newbauer doubled to score Shadrack. With two outs, Colin Schlarman singled to score Holsinger and Newbauer to make the score 21-7.

Both teams scored four runs in the first inning.

Two doubles by the Pirates put runners at second and third and both runners scored on a single by Aidyn Johns. A walk to McDermitt put runners on first and third and both runners scored on a single by Lucas Graves.

In the bottom of the first Shadrack walked and went to second on a wild pitch. Eric Newbauer singled to score Shadrack and with two outs, Newbauer stole second. Schlarman walked to load the bases and Holsinger scored on a single by Finn Axe. Kayden Murphy walked to bring in Newbauer and Shadrack walked to bring home Schlarman and tie the game at 5-all.

The Pirates scored five runs in the second inning to grab a 9-4 lead.

The Pirates play the Reds on Thursday and the White Sox play the Phillies.
