Minster Baseball Team picks up three more wins

The Minster baseball team picked up three more wins to move their overall record to 13-1 on the season. All three games were shutouts as the Wildcats routed Crestview 18-0 on Friday, and defeated Bethel 1-0 and Indian Lake 1-0 on Saturday.

Minster 18, Crestview 0

The Wildcats hammered out 18 runs on 14 hits on their way to an 18-0 victory over Crestview on Friday. Tyler Stueve and James Niemeyer each had three hits for Minster. Ian Homan and Adam Rindler had two hits. Rindler had four runs batted in.

Brandon Lickteig picked up with the win on the mound for Minster. Lickteig tossed a complete game, going seven innings, on two hits, zero runs, striking out five and walking five.

Minster led 1-0 after two innings and added two more runs in both the third and fourth innings. The Wildcats put up four runs in the sixth inning and exploded for nine runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Minster 1, Bethel 0 Minster posted a big run in the second inning and made it stand the rest of the way on their way to a 1-0 victory in their first game of the day on Saturday.

Louis Magoto pitched a solid game for the Wildcats to earn the victory. Magoto gave up just four hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking three.

James Niemeyer, Adam Rindler, Rylan Edwards, Ian Homan, and Magoto each had a hit for Minster. A single by Magoto in the bottom of the second scored Rindler for the lone run of the game.

In a pitchers duel, Minster posted a 1-0 victory over Indian Lake. James Niemeyer turned in a solid performanc­e on the hill for the Wildcats. Niemeyer pitched a onehitter to earn the victory. Niemeyer went seven innings, giving up no runs, and struck out 12 batters. The Wildcat pitcher issued only one walk.

The host Wildcats scored in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Rindler stole third base and came around to score on a wild pitch for the win. Minster had four hits in the game and was led by Tyler Stueve who finished with two hits.
