Trinity, St. X, Manual, CAL, Fern Creek win

Freshman quarterbac­k Zane Johnson passed for 100 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Trinity High School football team to a 38-0 victory over visiting Oldham County on Friday night.

Johnson completed 6 of 9 passes and was one of three Trinity quarterbac­ks to see action, joining Jackson Hepner (6 for 7, 71 yards) and Brock Shoemaker (3 for 7, 40 yards).

Clint Sansbury led Trinity’s rushing attack with 50 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Luke Sasser and Zach Ralston had touchdown catches for Trinity (7-3), which is ranked No. 2 in Class 6A.

Oldham County (3-6) managed 44 total yards and was held to minus-23 yards rushing.

St. Xavier 55, Pleasure Ridge Park 0

Davis Yates rushed for two touchdowns and the Tigers (6-3) got two scores from their defense in a rout of the host Panthers (4-5). Yates finished with 70 yards on seven carries.

Jacob Buehner returned an intercepti­on 15 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, and Carson Owen had a 14-yard return of a fumble for a score in the fourth quarter.

St. X quarterbac­k Trevor Havill threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Manny Gray and also rushed for a touchdown.

Christian Academy 55, Elizabetht­own 7

Cole Hodge passed for 273 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for two scores as the Centurions (8-1) — ranked No. 1 in Class 3A — routed the visiting Panthers (2-7).

Hodge completed 17 of 29 passes and also rushed for 43 yards on three carries. Jeffrey Vazzana led the rushing attack with 99 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.

Justin Ruffin led the CAL receivers with six catches for 64 yards and a touchdown. Connor Hodge, Cole’s younger brother, had four catches for 98 yards and a score.

Collins 21, South Oldham 20

Freshman quarterbac­k Kade Goodin rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Titans (6-3) over the host Dragons (6-4).

Goodin’s 9-yard touchdown run gave Collins a 21-14 lead with 9:59 remaining.

South Oldham’s Cole Greenwell scored on a 4-yard run with 53 seconds left to make it 21-20. South Oldham chose to go for a 2-point conversion, but Jacob Acevedo was tackled just short of the end zone.

Acevedo and Nick Hamilton had touchdown runs for South Oldham.

Manual 48, Meade County 21

Eli Creech threw two touchdown passes and also rushed for a score as the Crimsons (8-1) beat the host Green Wave (5-4).

Manual’s Zeek Washburn rushed for two touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass from Creech.

Fern Creek 43, Southern 0

Mykel Malone rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries to lead the Tigers (5-3) over the host Trojans (4-5).

Fern Creek quarterbac­k Kaleb Passmore passed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Eric Pickett, T.J. Cothron and Landon Edwards added touchdown runs for the Tigers.

Southern quarterbac­k Calvin Kafando accounted for 162 yards (94 passing, 68 rushing).

Campbellsv­ille 21, Kentucky Country Day 13

Kace Eastridge passed for 203 yards and two touchdowns as the Eagles (9-0) beat the visiting Bearcats (8-1) in a matchup of Class A powers.

Deondre Weathers (three catches, 104 yards) and Gabriel Noyola (four catches, 97 yards, one touchdown) were Eastridge’s top targets. Daniel Forbis rushed for 76 yards on 17 carries.

Central 50, LaRue County 7

Cortez Stone rushed for 213 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Yellow Jackets (4-5) over the visiting Hawks (0-9).

Central’s Justin Brents added 101 yards and two touchdowns on two carries.

Central’s defense got intercepti­ons from Javion Wallace, Jermaine Walker and Kaiden Hobson and a fumble recovery from George Black.
