We redesigned your Sunday paper. What do you think?

- Mary Irby-Jones Editor Louisville Courier Journal USA TODAY NETWORK

Welcome to the first week of your redesigned newspaper!

I hope you find it as enjoyable to read as the staff experienced producing the stories and photographs for this first redesigned Sunday edition.

Today’s newspaper features a highly designed cover story examining the exponential growth of local health care giant Norton Healthcare written by Courier Journal Business Reporter Olivia Evans. Did you know that Norton grew from one infirmary in 1886 to more than 400 health care facilities today? Olivia takes you on this journey of growth in a comprehensive report and timeline. Speaking of Olivia, there is also a story about her time at the Courier Journal in today’s paper.

The first section of the paper also features a story of inspiration about why an Olmstead Parks leader feels “a deep sense of gratitude” for our community, and there’s a local history feature on the 1974 tornado. You will also find a business page, a photo page and news of interest from around our region focused on Indiana and Ohio.

Additionally, our remade Sunday Sports section includes interesting features such as a look at Univerisity of Louisville hoops as well as state high school softball and baseball previews.

Finally, we’re adding an entirely new section, Weekend Exclusive, that brings together news to help you navigate your life. It will include stories on health, finance, relationships and resources that will help you make important decisions for your future.

I would love to hear your feedback and comments on what you think about today’s newspaper.
