Rob­bery sus­pect sought

In­ves­ti­ga­tors with the New­ton County Sher­iff ’s Of­fice (NCSO) are look­ing for the per­son who robbed a Salem Road con­ve­nience store at gun point Tues­day Night.

Ac­cord­ing to the NCSO in­ci­dent re­port, a male armed with a hand­gun en­tered the Golden Pantry on Salem Road on July 11 shortly be­fore 11 p.m. and took an undis­closed amount of money. When deputies ar­rived at the scene, the store clerk had locked her­self and a wit­ness in­side the store.

The sus­pect is de­scribed as a black male wear­ing black sports pants with a white stripe, black long sleeve shirt and a white Tshirt over his head cov­er­ing his face. He re­port­edly fled on foot across the in­ter­sec­tion to old Con­cord Road.
