Wet weather on Monday resulted in the spring sports events scheduled for squads at Elk County Catholic High School being postponed.

St. Marys Area High School had previously announced the postponement of the events on their schedule for Monday. That included a boys’ tennis matchup between the Dutchmen and Crusader squads. The match will now be played at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the St. Marys Area High School tennis courts.

As for ECC’s other events originally scheduled for Monday, both the baseball and softball teams had been slated to be in action.

The Crusader baseball team had been set to host the Brookville Raiders in what would have been ECC’s home opener at Berwind Park. The game is now scheduled to be played today, but the location has been changed to Brookville. The varsity contest will get underway at 4:15 p.m. and will be followed by a three-inning junior varsity game.

The Crusaders will now look to open their home schedule on Monday, April 19 when they host Punxsutawney in a 3:45 p.m. game.

The Lady Crusader softball team had been scheduled to be in action on the road at Brockway on Monday. That game will remain in Brockway and will now be played on Friday. The varsity contest will get underway at 4 p.m. and will be followed by a threeinning junior varsity game.

The Lady Crusaders had originally been scheduled to face Cameron County on Friday, but that contest was cancelled by Cameron County and has not yet been rescheduled.
