Benezette to light up for the holidays tonight
Benezette Township is officially scheduled to light up for the Christmas season tonight with its annual Light Up the Night celebration on the grounds of the Old Benezette Schoolhouse from 6-8 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, the temperature during the day today in Benezette is expected to be in the upper 30s. Tonight, there could be a slight chance of snow showers, with the temperature dropping to around 30 degrees.
Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance at the event, along with Keystone Elk Country Alliance mascot Benny the Elk.
Festivities will take place at the Benezette Township Pavilion and will include presents for children, as well as hot chocolate and snacks.
Shop Benezette, which encourages individuals to support local businesses in the Benezette area, is also being held today through Sunday.
