Leah R. Redmond
Leah R. Redmond, 90, of 100 Chestnut Ridge Rd., St. Marys, and formerly of Dill Hill Rd., Johnsonburg, died Sunday night, May 1, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on August 5, 1931 in St. Marys, a daughter to the late Salome F. and Mildred Gerg Dornisch. On September 23, 1950 in Sacred Heart Church, St. Marys she married Stanley R. Redmond, Jr. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2012.
Leah had lived in St. Marys for the past 8 years and had lived most of her life in Johnsonburg having moved there after her marriage in 1950. She and her husband had spent seven months of the year in Florida from 1988 to 2012. She had attended St. Marys Catholic Schools and attended St. Marys High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Johnsonburg Elks. She loved being a homemaker and being able to spend time with her family. She and her husband were avid bowlers, playing in leagues in St. Marys and Florida. Leah was known for her green thumb and loved flower and vegetable gardening.
Leah is survived by three children; Stephen C. Redmond and his wife Sandra of Lilburn, GA, Vincent J. Redmond and his wife Tracey of Rock Hill, SC and Diane, Mrs. Dennis Kaveny of St. Marys, 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson and a sister; Elizabeth “Betty” Hanes of St. Marys.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by brothers James and Charles Dornisch and a great-granddaughter in infancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Leah R. Redmond will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg on Friday May 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services Chapel 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, PA on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
