From Coast to Coast, Community to Community, State to State, thousands will join together in prayer on Thursday, May 5 for the 71st Annual National Day Of Prayer.

We need to be in fervent prayer for our Nation and it’s Leaders. Last year President Joe Biden issued a Proclamation on The National Day of Prayer and again something unprecedented happened. (A word used more and more). President Biden neglected to mention God during his formal Proclamation.

Franklin Graham responded “This is a National Day Of Prayer. Of course we need to call on God and not just some generic ‘gods’ or some ‘power in the air’ - but on God Himself, The Creator Who Made and

Created this Earth and Who sent His Son, Jesus Christ from Heaven to this Earth to save mankind by dying on a Cross.” There is no one else to pray to except to God” he added.

The theme for 2022 is “EXALT THE LORD, WHO HAS ESTABLISHED US” based on Colossians 2:6-7, “Therefore, as you have received Christ, Jesus The Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him, and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.”

On Thursday, May 5, the Pastors of Elk County are organizing an Elk Countywide Prayer Service, being held at the Methodist Church Pavilion, 871 South Michael Street,

St. Marys at 6 p.m. At this Service, we will pause to honor our former Ridgway Mayor, Guillermo Udarbe and Barry Morgan of WDDH, who both left us unexpectedly and saddened our hearts. Barry Morgan was instrumental in making sure the service was broadcast live on the radio for those who choose to listen at home.

Part of the 2022 National Prayer for America states: “Let our reputation be of our faith in Christ alone, our love for all people and fruitful lives bearing the attitude, affections, and actions of Your Spirit, Who Dwells and works within us. We pray for America: The Church, Family, Education, Military, Workplace, Government, Arts,

Entertainment and Media. United in Your Love, WE EXALT THE LORD WHO HAS ESTABLISHED US.”

“Remember ever; and always, that your Country was founded…. by the stern old Puritans who made the deck of the Mayflower an Altar Of The Living God, and whose first act on touching the soil of the New World was to offer on bended knees thanksgiving to Almighty God.” Henry Wilson, 18th U.S. Vice President under Ulysses S. Grant.
