Maxine M. Lechien, 97, of Elk Haven Nursing Home, St. Marys, and formerly of Clarion St., Wilcox, died early Tuesday morning, May 3, 2022 at Elk Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 30, 1924 in Johnsonbur­g a daughter to the late Paul and Helene Kilhoffer Stahli. On February 12, 1941 she married Clyde A. Lechien. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1978.

Maxine was a lifelong resident of the Johnsonbur­g-Wilcox area and graduated from the Rolfe High School. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church and the Jones Township Senior Center where she had been its president for several years. She was a caring person who loved to put others first and was always there for her children, grandchild­ren and great and greatgreat-grandchild­ren. She loved the animals around her home and she had “two green thumbs”, her gardens were so good.

Maxine is survived by her children; Timothy “Tim” Lechein and his wife Trenna of Wilcox, Dennis “Denny” Lechein of Wilcox, Rebecca, Mrs. Charles

Yonker of Wilcox and Lori Melquist and her companion Carl Gahn of South Carolina. She is also survived by 12 grandchild­ren, 16 great-grandchild­ren and 3 great-greatgrand­children.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predecease­d by brothers Donald “Heavy”, Harold and Paul Stahli and sisters June Taylor and Nancy Jones.

Funeral Services for Maxine M. Lechein will be private and held at the convenienc­e of the family. There will be no visitation.

Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Ridgway.

Arrangemen­ts are under direction of the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonbur­g, PA
