State police at Ridgway Theft by deception – welfare fraud

JAY TWP. – At 1:08 p.m. on April 19, PSP Ridgway responded to Josephine Road in Jay Township for a report of unemployme­nt fraud/ identity theft. The victim was listed as being a 58-year-old Weedville man. The investigat­ion is ongoing.

Overdose

FOX TWP. – On April 21, PSP Ridgway responded to a location in Fox Township for the unattended death of Chanel Wolfel, 26, of Kersey. Through preliminar­y investigat­ion, it was determined Wolfel died between 6:30 p.m. on April 20 and 7 p.m. on April 21 as a result of a drug overdose.

Burglary

FOX TWP. – Troopers from PSP Ridgway responded to a burglary on Hayes Road/Toby Road in Fox Township where an unknown male forcibly entered a structure between 6 p.m. on April 6 and noon on April 25. The victim was listed as being a 51-year-old Plainfield, Indiana man. The investigat­ion is ongoing at this time.

Domestic

HORTON TWP. – PSP Ridgway troopers were dispatched to Route 219 in Horton Township for a domestic between 2:452:49 a.m. on April 28. Throughout the course of the investigat­ion, it was determined the highly intoxicate­d Richard Will, 36, of Brockport, had struck the victim, a 28-year-old Brockport woman, in the face, subsequent­ly breaking the glasses of the victim. Charges are to be filed through MDJ 59-3-02.

Burglary

JONES TWP. – On April 28 at 3 p.m., multiple members of PSP Ridgway were dispatched to the area of SR 219 near Worrall Street in Wilcox for an active domestic. Upon arrival, and through interviews, it was determined that Brandon Dilley, 36, of Wilcox, entered his sister’s residence without her permission. While inside, Dilley stole prescripti­on pills from the victim’s bedroom. Dilley left the residence and came back moments later on a red Honda CRF 450X dirt bike with his six-year-old son on the dirt bike with no helmet and protective equipment. After Dilley got off the dirt bike, he confronted his nephew and shoved him. Dilley was determined to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and transporte­d to Penn Highlands Elk for a legal blood draw. Dilley was then transporte­d to PSP Ridgway, where he was fingerprin­ted and photograph­ed. Elk County Probation was contacted and sent a detainer. Dilley was then transporte­d to the Elk County Jail. Victims in the incident were listed as being a 17-yearold male of Wilcox, a sixyear-old male of Wilcox, and a 43-year-old female of Wilcox.
