ECC track and field squads host Kane, Johnsonburg, NoPo
The Elk County Catholic High School girls’ and boys’ track and field teams played host to squads from Kane, Johnsonburg, and Northern Potter on Monday afternoon.
In the boys’ meet, Kane posted the highest team score of the day with 88 points. ECC was second with 83 points, followed by Johnsonburg with 49 and Northern Potter with 39.
In the girls’ meet, the Lady Crusaders led the team scoring with 91 points. Johnsonburg was second with 71, followed by Kane with 60 and Northern Potter with 22.
The Lady Crusaders won six individual events and one relay in the meet.
Sophia Bille and Sami Straub were both two-event winners. Bille won the 400 meter dash in 65.8 seconds and the 800 meter run in 2:45.7. Straub won the triple jump with a jump of 33’6” and the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 49.3 seconds.
Rachel Sloff won the long jump with a jump of 15’1”, and Grace Neubert won the 1600 meter run in a time of 5:42.3.
The Lady Crusader 4x800 meter relay team of Isabella Macer, Andrea Baron, Sami Straub, and Grace Neubert had a winning time of 11:37.
In the boys’ meet, the Crusaders won four individual events and two of the relays.
Nick Cherry won the 100 meter dash in 11.6 seconds, Adam Straub won the 400 meter dash in 59.9 seconds, Bobby Urmann won the 300 meter hurdles in 43.8 seconds, and Alex Miller won pole vault with a jump of 11’.
Additionally, the Crusader 4x800 meter relay team of Tom Dippold, Julian Funaki, Lucas Polaski, and Aaron Lanzel had a winning time of 9:41, and the 4x100 meter relay team of Tom Dippold Luke Jansen, Nick Cherry and Timmy Brannock had a winning time of 4 seconds.
