Regina M. “Gina” Detsch, 83, of Robin Road, St. Marys, passed away at her home on Monday, January 30, 2023, following a lengthy illness with her family by her side.

She was born on August 10, 1939 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Marinus and Anna Minnick Bobenrieth. On November 27, 1958 in St. Marys Church, she married the late Joseph F. Detsch, who preceded her in death on June 5, 2003.

Gina was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1957 and was a member of Queen of the World Church. Together with her husband, Gina and Joe planted and cultivated a beautiful garden for many years, which she enjoyed immensely. She always looked forward to trips with her daughters, traveling near and far with her family. In her free time, she enjoyed crafts and reading. Gina took comfort and solace in her home, which knew much love and where she had raised and cared for her family.

She is survived by seven children; Christine Newell of Kersey, Laurie (Ian) Geitner of Hickory, NC, Carol (Jim “Chip”) Lilja of Kersey, Joanne (Randy) Yost of Maytown, PA, Mary Lee (Alvin) Vollmer of St. Marys, Lisa (Ron) Dippold of St. Marys, Amy (Billy) Dietz of Mooresvill­e, NC; and by her 15 beloved grandchild­ren, 21 great-grandchild­ren, and one greatgreat grandchild.

She is also survived by one brother; Wayne Bobenrieth of Port Allegany, and one sister; Julie (Mike) Menteer of Ithaca, NY, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Gina was preceded in death by a sonin-law; Jeffrey Newell, a sister; Diana Detsch, and by a great-grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Regina M. Detsch will be celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 with Fr. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received at the Queen of the World Church on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 10:15 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Community Nurses.
