Krise announces candidacy for Elk Co. Commissioner

-

Raymond Krise Jr. is announcing his candidacy for Elk County Commissioner.

I have been a lifelong resident of Elk County. I am a graduate of St. Marys high school, and a veteran of United States Marine Corps. I had an honorable discharge as a Sergeant, and I returned home to work in the community in various jobs. I was an employee of Keystone Powdered Metal, and Fox Township as a landfill inspector and road maintenance crew. While employed I helped my father open a local business, The Last Chance Inn. Also, I opened Bootjack Auto Sales with the help of my business partner. On the retirement of my mother Ann Krise, I chose to focus on the family business and decided to leave my position from Fox Township to dedicate my time to Boot Jack Auto Sales. Then I cofounded two more local businesses. The First Chance Inn, located in Kersey, and H&A Auto and Hardware in Ridgway. If elected commissioner I will relinquish the day-to-day running of my businesses and become a full-time commissioner.

I volunteered with the Fox Township Ambulance Service for many years as an EMT and manager. I held a trustee position at the Fox Township Sewer Authority during the expansion of the sewer system. Later, I was elected as Fox Township Supervisor, serving a six-year term. I am currently a board member of the Elk County Housing Authority.

I am a member of several local organizations including Fox Township American Legion Post 511, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Kersey Lions Club.

My experience as a township supervisor and along with my experience at the Sewer Authority has given me confidence in my ability to execute a successful term as Elk County Commissioner. My personal businesses have given me the opportunity to work closely with Elk County residents from all walks of life, making me uniquely qualified to represent the will of the people who live and work in our community. Some of my goals will be to create a fair tax system so we do not put a financial burden on the elderly citizens of this community with a goal of making anyone 65 years of age and over to pay no taxes, also another top priority is to create a transportation system that will work for all citizens of the community I believe we can create a system that can work fairly for all and again 65 and over would not have to pay for this service with my plan this can and will be accomplished. I also pledge not to be placed on any insurance plans that the county residents would have to pay for. I also pledge 20 percent of my pay to be donated to a different charitable organization each year. I am honored to be your Commissioner. Thank You and I would appreciate your support.
