Matchup set for PIAA 1A boy’s title game

Linville Hill entered the state tournament with a 21-0 record and then rolled to a 7439 win over District 4 third place team North Penn-Liberty in the first round, a 50-42 win over District 12 champion City School in the second round, and a 63-58 win over District 1 champion Chester Charter Academy in the quarterfin­als before falling to Berlin by a score of 63-45 in Monday's semifinals.

Berlin entered the state tournament with a record of 22-2, defeating District 6 third place team St. Joseph's Academy 74-33 in the first round, District 3 fourth place team LaAcademia 74-63 in the second round, and

District 1 runner-up Philmont Christian 6743 in the quarterfin­als.

While Berlin Brothersva­lley won the east, it was District 7 champion Imani Christian Academy that advanced to the state title game with a 72-40 win over District 7 runnerup Union Area in the western final.

Imani entered the state tournament with an 18-6 record and defeated District 9 fifth place team Clarion 7843 in the first round, District 9 runner-up Union 80-48 in the second round, and District 10 champion Farrell 80-50 in the quarterfin­als.

Union Area entered the state playoffs with a 22-3 record, defeating District 10 runner-up Kennedy Catholic 6545 in the first round, District 9 fourth place team Cameron County 51-37 in the second round, and District 7 third place team Carlynton 75-55 in the quarterfin­als.

Berlin Brothersva­lly and Imani Christian Academy will play for the PIAA 1A boys' state title on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Giant Center in Hershey.
