Penn Pallet defeats Rolley 8-5

Penn Pallet defeated Rolley by a score of 8-5 in St. Marys Little League Softball action on Tuesday, May 23.

Rolley took an early 4-0 lead in the game with three runs in the top of the first and one in the top of the second, but Penn Pallet tied things up with four runs of their own in the bottom of the third. Rolley briefly retook the lead, 5-4, with another run in the top of the fourth, but Penn Pallet scored four more in the home half of the inning and then held on for the 8-5 win.

Each team had three hits. M. Thorwart had a double for Penn Pallet, and C. Carlson had a double for Rolley.

Four pitchers saw action in the circle for Penn Pallet. L. Swanger started the game and worked the first inning, giving up two hits, walking three, and striking out one. A. Shuttlewor­th worked the next inning, giving up one hit, walking one, and striking out two. J. Cunningham took over for the next two innings, walking one and striking out four. B. Cunningham worked the final inning, walking two and striking out three.

For Rolley, G. Mecca started the game and worked two innings, walking one and striking out six. C. Carlson took over for the final two innings, giving up three hits, walking eight, and striking out four.
