SMA athletes compete at TSTCA Outdoor Championsh­ip

Several members of the St. Marys Area High School girls' and boys' track and field teams were in action over the weekend at the TSTCA Outdoor Championsh­ip at West Mifflin High School.

The Lady Dutch finished in sixth place out of 29 teams with 35 points, and the Dutchmen finished in 19th place out of 34 teams with nine points.

South Fayette won the girls' team title with 66 points, and Norwin won the boys' team title with 77 points.

Gabby Pistner led the way for the Lady Dutch winning both the 800 meter run and the 1600 meter run. Pistner had a winning time of 2:18.25 in the 800 and a winning time of 5:09.60 in the 1600.

Mary Defilippi finished fifth in the 1600 meter run in 5:20.94 and eighth in the 800 meter run in 2:26.40.

Raechel Braun finished 18th in the 1600 meter run in 5:37.86 and 18th in the 800 meter run in 2:33.52.

Lucia Hayes finished fifth in the 400 meter dash in 1:00.85 and 11th in the 200 meter dash in 28.08 seconds.

Sophia Condon finished 53rd in the 400 meter dash in 1:11.74.

Lola Larkin finished 58th in the 400 meter dash in 1:14.57.

Maura Caskey finished 10th in the 300 meter hurdles in 50.32 seconds and 42nd in the 200 meter dash in 29.84 seconds.

Zahra Baluch finished 36th in the 200 meter dash in 29.19 seconds.

Paige Bauer finished 35th in the 3200 meter run in 14:24.68.

Braelyn Beck finished 41st in the 3200 meter run in 14:54.16.

The Lady Dutch team of Zahra Baluch, Adriana Buck, Becca Gnan, and Taylor VanAlstine finished 18th in the 4x100 meter relay in a time of 53.89 seconds.

Rylee Nicklas led the way in the field events, finishing third in shot put with a throw of 32'8”, fifth in discus with a throw of 101'10”, and fifth in javelin with a throw of 113'5”.

Jillian Kline finished 20th in javelin with a throw of 81'11”.

Al Kunes finished 53rd in javelin with a throw of 61'4”.

Chloe Schaberl finished 23rd in discus with a throw of 74'1”.

Abigail Gregory tied for 14th in shot put with a throw of 27'6”.

Emma Garstka finished 11th in long jump with a jump of 15'11” and 33rd in triple jump with a jump of 28'10”.

Lily Chmelar finished 61st in long jump with a jump of 11'10.5” and 44th in triple jump with a jump of 25'7.5”.

Taylor VanAlstine finished 51st in long jump with a jump of 13'0.5”.

Adriana Buck finished 32nd in high jump, clearing a height of 4'1”.

Jacob Nedimyer led the way for the Flying Dutchmen, finishing sixth in the 1600 meter run in 4:31.19 and ninth in the 800 meter run in 2:05.98.

Brandon Henry finished 16th in the 1600 meter run in 4:43.30 and 18th in the 800 meter run in 2:10.59.

Braydon Mosier finished 40th in the 800 meter run in 2:17.87.

Clay Solada finished 35th in the 300 meter hurdles in 47.61 seconds.

Andrew Field finished 14th in the 200 meter dash in 23.79 seconds.

Johnny Bandy finished 31st in the 200 meter dash in 24.67 seconds.

TJ Singer finished 65th in the 200 meter dash in 26.03 seconds.

The Flying Dutchmen team of Johnny Bandy, Matthew Davis, Andrew Field, and TJ Singer finished 12th in the 4x100 meter relay in 46.43 seconds.

Devlin Caskey tied for 26th in high jump, clearing a height of 5'4” and finished 42nd in triple jump with a jump of 33'6”.

Jason McAnany finished seventh in pole vault, clearing a height of 12'7”.

Andrew Field finished fifth in long jump with a jump of 20'11.5” and 18th in triple jump with a jump of 37'10.5”.

Matthew Davis finished 30th in long jump with a jump of 19'1.25”.

Brody Wehler finished 43rd in triple jump with a jump of 33'5.25”.

Jayden Overly finished 63rd in shot put with a throw of 29'8.5” and 50th in javelin with a throw of 93'3”.

Tyler Sheeley finished 64th in shot put with a throw of 29'4” and 59th in discus with a throw of 81'5”.

Cody Thompson finished 70th in shot put with a throw of 28'8” and 75th in discus with a throw of 67'8.5”.

Owen Thompson finished 64th in discus with a throw of 74'4.5”.

Landon Rippy finished 21st in javelin with a throw of 126'3”.

Tristan Dilley finished 54th in javelin with a throw of 90'4”.

The St. Marys Area squads are scheduled to next be in action at home on Tuesday when they host teams from ECC and DCC in a 4 p.m. meet.
