Man sentenced to 32 years for beating his elderly mother
A Plano man was sentenced Friday to 32 years in prison for brutally beating his elderly mother.
In December 2016, Christopher Dee Acklin, 46, got drunk and attacked his 73-year-old mother at her Plano home, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reports.
The assault left her with a fractured femur and required her to have skin grafts on her arms, Collin County Criminal District Attorney Greg Willis said.
A judge sentenced Acklin to more than three decades in prison for injury to the elderly causing serious bodily harm with a deadly weapon.
Acklin’s mother testified that she closed her eyes during the attack and felt as though she were going to die, according to KTVT.
Acklin’s lengthy criminal record includes a conviction for assault family violence against his mother in 2010 and another against his wife in 2013, two DWI convictions and multiple violations of protective orders.
