Buying a spec home may be the answer

Your dream home may be one that no other person has ever lived in. But it doesn’t have to be a custom-built home.

Builders in some of the most popular neighborhoods are willing to take a chance that they can build a home, even a very expensive one, that will appeal to you. Often called a “spec home,” these are homes that were designed and constructed by a builder without a specific buyer in mind. The builder found the lot, hired the architect and interior designer and built the house, all in hopes that it will sell at the price the builder and his or her real estate agent set.

“Dallas has many outstanding builders who are in a position to design and build high-quality homes for buyers,” said Allie Beth Allman, president and CEO of Allie Beth Allman & Associates. “Buying a spec home may be a perfect answer for your family.”

Unlike a custom-designed home, a spec-built home has at least

three advantages. It is ready now or soon will be. The buyer can see the home and its many features first hand, not on a computer screen. And the home is totally new.

Allie Beth Allman associates are ready to help find your dream home, said Allman. Their experience will be invaluable, at no expense to you.

Here are five homes in neighborhoods that Allie Beth Allman associates can show you now.
