Plano West team wins Quiz Bowl championship

Plano West Senior High School sent two teams to the Quiz Bowl 2018 High School National Championship Tournament in Atlanta last weekend. Its A team, captained by Thomas Gioia, who was joined by Avi Ackermann, Abhinav Godavarthi, and Jas Singh, won the tournament, making them the best Quiz Bowl team in the nation.

The two Plano West teams were joined by 350 of the top high school quiz bowl teams in the competition, including 31 other teams from Texas.

The B team, captained by Ryan Conti, who was joined by Guy Allouche, Dachey Lin, and Andy Qiao, made it to round 18. Both teams were coached by Philip Stager.
