Genesis Women’s Shelter to honor six at luncheon
Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support will host its second annual First Ladies’ Bruncheon at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Belo Mansion, 2101 Ross Ave. The event will recognize six women and men of faith who stand up against domestic violence within their communities.
They are Monica Johnson, a survivor; Rev. Casey Shobe of Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration; Rev. Dr. Sheron Patterson of Hamilton Park UMC; Debra Peek-Haynes of Friendship-West Baptist Church; Dallas City Council member Jennifer Gates; and assistant district attorney Carla Bean.
Dr, Cathy Moffitt, CEO of Heartfelt International Ministries Inc., will be the keynote speaker and Starlene Stringer is mistress of ceremonies. Tickets start at $100. To order, visit genesisshelter.org.
