Bri­tish Fly­ing School Mu­seum honors pi­lots

The No. 1 Bri­tish Fly­ing Train­ing School Mu­seum’s an­nual Re­mem­brance Day cer­e­mony will be at 3 p.m. Sun­day in Oak­land Memo­rial Park, 117 Bradshaw St., fol­lowed by a Her­itage Tea at the mu­seum, 119 Silent Wings Blvd.

The Re­mem­brance Day cer­e­mony honors 20 Bri­tish cadets who died in plane crashes while re­ceiv­ing their pi­lot train­ing at the Ter­rell Mu­nic­i­pal Air­port be­fore and dur­ing World War II. They are buried in a des­ig­nated area of the ceme­tery un­der the Bri­tish flag. The plots are main­tained by Ter­rell res­i­dents un­der the su­per­vi­sion of the Com­mon­wealth War Graves Com­mis­sion.
