The Dallas Morning News - - North Texas - Sara Magalio

A Cadillac was found Friday submerged in the Trinity River in Dallas’ Joppa neighborhood, but rescuers found nobody inside.

A tow-truck driver alerted police about 3:30 a.m. after spotting the roof of the Cadillac CTS poking out of the water near Great Trinity Forest Way and Carbondale Street.

Dallas Fire-rescue’s water rescue unit was dispatched, and the crew used a boat to investigate whether anyone was inside the vehicle.

With help from Dallas Fire-rescue divers, a tow truck pulled the vehicle out of the water. It’s unclear whether it was stolen or how it ended up in the water.

Dallas police had no additional information and are investigating.
