Woman killed while trying to cross interstate, police say


A woman was killed after being hit by several cars Thursday morning while crossing an interstate in Burleson, police said.

At about 6:30 a.m., the woman, who was in her 30s, was trying to cross Interstate 35W southbound on foot. She had been staying at the Days Inn along the interstate.

Police said the woman, whose identity they did not release, may have had drugs or alcohol in her system. She also may have been dealing with mental health issues.

The interstate was closed until about 11:45 a.m. Thursday while investigat­ors were on the scene.
