Downtown Fort Worth landmark is for sale

- Steve Brown

The Tower in Fort Worth is up for grabs.

Designed by renowned Atlanta architect John Portman, the 35floor building was Fort Worth’s tallest skyscraper when it opened in 1974 and was used for offices until 2000, when a tornado shattered the downtown landmark and the building closed.

Developers renovated the former Bank One Tower into a combination of condominiums, retail and office space.

Now the retail and office portion of the project is being offered for sale by commercial real estate firm HFF. The commercial property is more than 80 percent leased.

The condominiums are not included in the sale.
