- Paul O’donnell

An Illinois company that makes packaging bubbles and other protective materials is opening two new manufacturing sites in Dallas-fort Worth as it expands in the southern region.

Pregis recently opened a 128,000-square-foot facility in Garland that produces packaging materials. It has hired 44 employees and expects to add another 40 as it ramps up production later this year.

The Deerfield, Ill.-based company also will occupy a 265,000-square-foot facility in Arlington where it will make Pregis Evertect mailers starting this summer. The company is looking to fill 80 positions in Arlington.

The Arlington facility is in addition to a recently announced Bethel, Pa., location and an existing site in Elk Grove Village, Ill.
