Baylor, Texas win; Texas State falls
Baylor and Texas advanced to the regional semifinals of the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship with victories Thursday.
No. 12 Baylor 3, Pepperdine 2: Baylor rallied to push a fifth set, winning 27-25 in the fourth. Lauren Harrison came up with some big-time points in Baylor's comeback effort and ended the match with 17 kills. The Bears meet Nebraska next.
No. 4 Texas 3, Wright State 0: Texas advanced to the regional semifinals for the 15th straight time. Setter Jhenna Gabriel had 34 assists and Logan Eggleston led all hitters with 11 kills. The Longhorns will face the winner of Thursday’s late Penn State-north Carolina A&T match.
No. 5 Nebraska 3, Texas State 0: The Huskers outhit the Bobcats .417 to .167.
