■ “Focus: Wael Shawky” features a film from Shawky’s trilogy Cabaret Crusades, along with new and related drawings and sculpture. The artist, who is based in Alexandria, Egypt, and Philadelphia, explores the ambiguities between history and myth in a multimedia presentation to challenge the authority of history. Themes he investigates include the history of the Arab peninsula (The Gulf Project), medieval hostilities between Christians and Muslims (Cabaret Crusades) and the recounting of poetic myths (Al Araba Al Madfuna). Through June 20.
■ “Shirin Neshat: I Will Greet the Sun Again” surveys three decades of the artist’s video works and photography that focus on ancient and recent Iranian history. Through May 16.
