Alaska to administer vaccines at airports
JUNEAU, Alaska — Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy said Friday that COVID-19 vaccines would be made available at key airports in the state starting June 1, part of plan to bolster the state’s pandemic-battered tourist industry.
Outlining plans for a national marketing campaign aimed at luring tourists using federal aid money, the Republican said the vaccine offer is “probably another good reason to come to the state of Alaska in the summer.”
State leaders have been pushing to allow large cruise ships to return to Alaska after COVID-19 restrictions have kept them away.
