Charles Birdwell Beard, Jr. of Dallas, Texas, completed his Journey on earth and went home to God at 9:55 a.m., Christmas Eve, Thursday. Dec 24, 2020, from complicati­ons related to Covid-19. Graveside services were held at 10am, Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at Mt Olivet Cemetery at Hugo, Oklahoma. The Rev. Deacon Charles D. Beard, of Tulsa, OK conducted the service for his uncle. Chuck is at rest near his parents

Chuck was born on January 8, 1954 in Paris, Texas to Charles B. “Charlie” Beard and Martha Elizabeth “Bess” Tisinger Beard of Frogville, Okla. He lived his early years in Choctaw County, Oklahoma graduating from Hugo High School in 1971 as Valdictori­an. He completed a BA degree in Spanish at Austin College in Sherman, Texas and continued his Spanish studies at Indiana University. He then moved to Dallas where he lived most of his life working in education and as a retail clerk.

Chuck was well known for his love of family, intelligen­ce, wit, and musical ability, but mostly for his love of Christ. For more than 40 years he was a devout and devoted member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Dallas. His was a life well lived.
