PRIVATE RETREATS OPEN UP DURING SPECIAL PROGRAM
If you’re the kind of person who pauses on the sidewalk to look wistfully at garden gates and imagine the greenery beyond them, you’ll want to check out The Garden Conservancy’s Open Days Program, where select private gardens are open to public visitors on specific days throughout the year. Amateur horticulturists can exchange ideas, or simply appreciate the inside view. For $5 admis-
sion, it’s a great way to gather new ideas for your own garden and enjoy some time in the sun.
The program takes place across the country, but locally, you can check out:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Sunday June 24, and Saturday, July 14: Rose arbors, a perennial cutting garden, greenhouse, heron pond,
ABOVE, STONE ACRES — ESTATE OF MR. & MRS. FREDERIC C. PAFFARD, JR., STONINGTON. OPEN DAYS PROGRAM: JUNE 24 AND JULY 14.
