Waterford— Assunta M. Orkney, 106, entered eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013.

She was born Aug. 15, 1907, in New London, the daughter of the late Francesco and Carmela (Cappola) Ruggiero. She was the beloved wife of the late John Orkney.

A funeral home service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Impellitte­ri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
