A Showplace in Sherman Oaks

Brad Turell, executive vice president of corporate communicat­ions at Paradigm Talent Agency, has listed his house in Sherman Oaks for sale at $3.295 million.

Designed for entertaini­ng, the 9,400-square-foot Mediterran­ean has been his family home for nearly a decade.

The grand foyer serves as the entrance to the house, with dual marble staircases, a circular hand-painted ceiling and a 35- foot ceiling. There are seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, including a 1,000-square-foot master suite with a sitting room and a balcony overlookin­g the mosaic- bottom swimming pool.

Among other rooms are a home theater, a gym, a sauna, an arcade room, a bar and a wine cellar.

Turell headed public relations for both the Fox and WBnetworks at their launches and is a former communicat­ions honcho for Turner Broadcasti­ng.

He plans to downsize now that his children are starting to head to college. The property last changed hands in 2003 for $1.65 million.

WAYNE BRADY MAKES A DEAL FOR PALISADES CONDO

Wayne Brady, who hosts " Let's Make a Deal," has made one himself with the purchase of a condominiu­m in Pacific Palisades for $1.75 million.

The unit features French doors opening to terraces, floor-to-ceiling windows and ocean views. There are three bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and 2,227 square feet of interior space.

Brady, 41, started hosting the new "Let's Make a Deal" in 2009 and is once again on the comedy improv show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?," which started back up this year. He hosted and produced the Emmywinnin­g "The Wayne Brady Show" in the early 2000s.

The comic actor sold his Sherman Oaks home this year for $1.8 million. The Mediterran­ean-style house had five bedrooms and five bathrooms in 5,469 square feet.

IT'S A BUY, SELL YEAR FOR ELLEN

Talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres has stirred up a whirlwind of real estate activity so far this year.

DeGeneres and spouse Portia De Rossi snapped up a $ 26.5 million estate in Santa Barbara County this year and are selling their ranch in Thousand Oaks.

Now they have let a pied-a-terre in Beverly Hills go for $843,900.

The 1,683- square- foot corner penthouse, which was listed at $899,000, features living and dining room areas, an eat-in kitchen, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

DeGeneres, 55, and De Rossi, 40, bought the property in 2010 for $835,000, public records show.

'FRANKLIN & BASH' STAR SELLS

Actor Breckin Meyer and his wife, writer- producer Deborah Kaplan, have parted with their house in the 90210 ZIP Code for $2.775 million.

The 1936 traditiona­l-style home features a formal entry, bay windows, a columned portico, vaulted wood- beam ceilings, a screening room, a den, an office, a roof terrace, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 4,888 square feet of living space.

The third- acre lot includes a swimming pool and a vine-covered pergola.

Meyer, 39, stars on the comic legal series " Franklin & Bash," which started in 2011, as well as the animated " Robot Chicken" series. His film work includes " Garfield" (2004), "Rat Race" (2001) and "Road Trip" (2000). Among Kaplan's credits, she was a writer and director for the films "Josie and the Pussycats" ( 2001) and " Can't Hardly Wait" (1998).

The couple put the house on the market in May at $2.995 million.

The property, which previously sold for $1.875 million a decade ago, is in the Beverly Crest neighborho­od, according to The Times' mapping database. This is considered the Beverly Hills Post Office area by the Multiple Listing Service.

MALIBU HOME RETAINS ZAPPA VIBE

Screenwrit­er Melissa Mathison has sold her Malibu home for $9.6 million to commercial real estate developer and USC benefactor Sonny Astani.

The Zen- inspired home, built in 1973, incorporat­es fireplace stone, Balinese wood and other materials gathered from around the world by earlier owner Gail Zappa, wife of the late musician Frank Zappa.

The 3,940-square-foot home contains six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The property has 84 feet of ocean bluff frontage and deeded beach access.

Mathison, who wrote " E. T. the Extra-Terrestria­l," bought the house in 2003 for $5.8 million.

This is Astani's third property in the Point Dume area. He owns another house nearby and a 10- acre horse property.

CRYSTAL METHOD DJ MOVES ON

DJ/ musician Ken Jordan of the Crystal Method has sold his Midcentury Modern home in Encino for $1.65 million.

The 3,368- square- foot home takes in views of the San Fernando Valley through its floor- to- ceiling glass doors and walls. The one-level home, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, has been upgraded with solar panels and a car-charging station.

The pool area of the 1964 house has been featured in print ads for the series "Mad Men."

Jordan and Scott Kirkland formed their electronic music duo in the early 1990s. Their albums include "Vegas" (1997), "Tweekend" (2001) and "Divided by the Night" (2009).

The property previously sold for $1.33 million a decade ago, public records show.
