After securing the apartment and obtaining a search warrant with assistance from detectives, police said they seized two guns, which included a loaded 9 mm semiautoma­tic handgun with its serial number obliterate­d and a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver. Police also seized 17 grams of cocaine, 3.5 grams of crack cocaine, more than 2 ounces of marijuana, three Suboxone strips and $314 in cash.

Phillip Anderson, 38, was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, criminal possession of a handgun, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, operating a drug factory, two counts of risk of injury to a minor and second-degree threatenin­g.

Darrio Anderson, 34, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of drug parapherna­lia and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police said both men have previous narcotic-related conviction­s and are barred from possessing a firearm.

Because of the two children at the home, police said the Department of Children and Families was notified and assisted with the investigat­ion.

Phillip Anderson was held in lieu of a $300,000 bond, and Darrio Anderson was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond. Both men are due to appear Monday in Norwich Superior Court.
