Richard Hallahan
Old Lyme— Richard Hallahan, 50, of Flat Rock Hill Road, Old Lyme, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hallahan was born on Jan. 23, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Joseph and Jeanne Hallahan. He graduated from Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He had been employed for many years as an engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat Division in Groton.
Rich was best known for his kind heart and generosity. He was a devoted son to his parents, a wonderful brother to his siblings, and the favorite fun-loving uncle of his nieces and nephews. He was an active member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, volunteering to serve Mass and to organize the Fall Festival, and he was recently elected to the Parish Council. He had a great love of the beach, the sea, and of fishing.
Mr. Hallahan is survived by his sisters, Terry Keyser of Seabrook, N.H., and Patty Socrat of Natick, Mass., and his brother, Mike Hallahan of Indiana and their families.
A procession will assemble at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at FultonTheroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Lane, Old Lyme, CT 06371 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Old Lyme.
