Charlotte Lavoie

Montville— Charlotte A. (Pigott) Lavoie, 66, of Oakdale died unexpectedlyWednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, after a brief illness.

Born in Camden, N.J., on Feb. 6, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (McConville) Pigott.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 39 years of marriage, Donald, and her son, Jeff, both of Oakdale; her daughter, Alicia of Mystic; and her elder sister, Margie King of Cherry Hill, N.J.

Charlotte was predeceased by MarionWinner, her middle sister.

A lifelong learner, she graduated from East Lyme High School, Hartford Seminary’s ACE program, and the Mercy Center’s Spiritual Director’s program. Her work included being a hairdresser for 28 years and a director of Christian Education at various UCC churches in Connecticut for 18 years. She served on the ConnecticutWomen of UCC and the Connecticut Association of United Church Educators. She was a Partner in Education through the Connecticut Conference of UCC and a nationally certified UCC Christian educator.

Charlotte was devoted to her family, friends and church community. She loved nature and crafts, especially crossstitch and painting. She also was an avid reader.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, at the intersection of Routes 87 and 207.
