Montville— Charlotte A. (Pigott) Lavoie, 66, of Oakdale died unexpected­lyWednesda­y, Oct. 21, 2015, after a brief illness.

Born in Camden, N.J., on Feb. 6, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (McConville) Pigott.

She leaves behind her husband of almost 39 years of marriage, Donald, and her son, Jeff, both of Oakdale; her daughter, Alicia of Mystic; and her elder sister, Margie King of Cherry Hill, N.J.

Charlotte was predecease­d by MarionWinn­er, her middle sister.

A lifelong learner, she graduated from East Lyme High School, Hartford Seminary’s ACE program, and the Mercy Center’s Spiritual Director’s program. Her work included being a hairdresse­r for 28 years and a director of Christian Education at various UCC churches in Connecticu­t for 18 years. She served on the Connecticu­tWomen of UCC and the Connecticu­t Associatio­n of United Church Educators. She was a Partner in Education through the Connecticu­t Conference of UCC and a nationally certified UCC Christian educator.

Charlotte was devoted to her family, friends and church community. She loved nature and crafts, especially crossstitc­h and painting. She also was an avid reader.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at the First Congregati­onal Church of Lebanon, at the intersecti­on of Routes 87 and 207.
