The time to discover New London’s magnet schools is now
The Fall Bee Magnet Showcase is an event where six magnet schools, all divisions of New London Public Schools, come together in an effort to raise awareness of the district’s available K-12 magnet school options.
The Fall Bee Magnet Showcase is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about New London’s incredible K-12 magnet-themed programs. From Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Dual Language and Culture, and Visual and Performing Arts, a New London magnet school could be the perfect fit for your child.
Three schools, Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School, Winthrop STEM Elementary Magnet School, and STEM Magnet Middle School (SMMS), are open to students from across the state and will begin accepting applications for enrollment this January. The district’s award-winning Science and Technology Magnet High School of southeastern Connecticut is now accepting applications for enrollment. The remaining two schools, The Early Childhood Center at Harbor School and C.B. Jennings Elementary School, are open only to New London residents at this time, and will begin accepting applications for enrollment in January. New London Public Schools staff will be on hand to answer questions about enrollment, magnet school programming, before and after school care, and community partner involvement.
New London Public Schools has embarked on its transformation into a regional system of highperforming schools. We are on our way to becoming the region’s educational destination, and every day our magnet school pathways continue to develop and expand their programming to offer New London’s students opportunities in the classroom not found anywhere else.
Catch the magnet school buzz and make an informed choice for your child by attending the bee magnet showcase, on Thursday, November 5, from 6 -8 p.m., at Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School located at 37 Beech Drive, New London. For more information visit newlondon.org/beemagnet.
