Norwich — Natalie Ann (Phillips) Downey of Hunters Road passed away Oct. 29, 2015, at The William W. Backus Hospital.

She was born Jan. 19, 1939, in Norwich, the daughter of the late Curtis and Miriam (Grover) Phillips.

She married the late James Patrick Downey on June 11, 1960. He passed away on May 24, 2013.

She was a devoted wife and mother and had worked for many years at Weight Watchers.

She loved to bake and was famous for her homemade whoopie pies.

She loved reading Amish books and was an accomplish­ed seamstress.

She was a member of the Norwich Senior Center and a communican­t of the Cathedral of St. Patrick.

She is survived by her daughters, Audrey Leone and husband, Luke, of Lisbon, Amy Adams and her husband, James, of Norwich; brother, Malcolm Phillips and wife, Terry, of Colchester; grandchild­ren, Christophe­r, Kevin and Nicole Palmer, and Jessica and Joshua Leone.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predecease­d by her brother, Louis Phillips and his wife, Viola.

A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, and will proceed to an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Patrick. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Natalie’s memory may be made to the Cathedral of St. Patrick, 213 Broadway, Norwich, or to St. Vincent de Paul Place Soup Kitchen, 120 Cliff St., Norwich, CT 06360.
