Joseph Clemens Sr.
Glastonbury — Joseph Watson Clemens Sr., 83, of South Glastonbury, beloved husband of Lottie (Rand) Clemens, died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at Glastonbury Health Care.
Born on March 11, 1932, to the late Joseph Lewis and Bertha Idella (Daniels) Clemens in South Glastonbury, he was a lifelong resident.
Besides his wife, Joe is survived by his children, Joseph W. Clemens Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Marlborough, Lori Davis and her husband, Filmore, of Glastonbury, Robin Zimmerman and her husband, Marc, of Newington; his grandchildren, Amanda, Courtny, Alicia, Joseph, Brenda, Jeffrey, Brian and Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his twin sister, Beverly Cowles, his sister, Alma Martin; and his brother, Christopher Clemens. Joe was an avid fisherman, spending many mornings on Tryon Street fishing for pike in the Connecticut River. He and his brother Chris spent most weekends fishing out on the ocean. Joe enjoyed spending time with his wife of 59 years and his family at summer picnics and celebrating birthdays and holidays. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2016, in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Old Church Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call on Friday prior to the service starting at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
