Miller and it came because Stepan had been on the ice for an extended shift and he looked over to the bench for help. J.T. Miller waited for the center to get to the bench and jumped off. He got the puck in the left circle and fired at Ryan Miller, who made the save. The Rangers' forward collected his own rebound, skated around the net and wrapped the puck inside the post before the Canucks' goalie could close off the corner. The Rangers, who hit four posts, tied the game at 2 with 8:14 left in regulation when Zuccarello took a pass from the corner by defenseman Keith Yandle and re-directed it into the net for his 17th goal. A trade has been anticipated to shake Montreal out of its lethargy and coach Michel Therrien's job could be on the line.

The Canadiens came out strong, but fell behind at 13:08 of the opening period.

Mike Condon stopped Talbot on a breakaway, but Andrei Markov's weak pass went straight back to Talbot and off the goalie's glove.

Barberio tied it 8:48 into the second with a one-timer off a P.K. Subban feed from a tight angle that beat Tuukka Rask, who usually struggles against the Canadiens and is now 5-153 against them in his career.
