Kimberly Mitchell
Ocala, Fla. — Kimberly Mitchell, 63, of Ocala passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at Ocala Regional Medical Center of complications from COPD.
She was born Nov. 4, 1952, in Gloversville, N.Y. She was united in marriage to Gary Mitchell, in Groton, on Aug. 28, 1982. Before her illness, she was employed at The William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. After residing in the Norwich area for over 30 years, she and Gary moved to Ocala in 2012.
She is survived by her husband of over 33 years, Gary Mitchell of Ocala, Fla.; her son, Aaron Karl Mitchell and daughter-in-law, Sarah Mitchell, of Bozrah; her two grandchildren, Eva and Julian Mitchell of Bozrah; her two sisters, Kathy Tansey of Westerly and Karen Lago of Sparta, Wis.; her father/mother-inlaw, Francis and Margaret Mitchell of Bozrah; sister-inlaw, Kathleen Larsen-Mitchell of Belchertown, Mass.; and her four nieces, Karla McAdams of Pawcatuck, Sheri-El Hartman, Kristen Gilbertson and Laurie Abraham, all of Wisconsin. She also leaves behind five greatnices and one great-nephew; and close friends, Elizabeth Nunes, Elizabeth Burton, Joan Weber, Donald and Loretta Michna and Sandy Nordgren.
She was predeceased by her brother, Karl LaVallee, who died while serving in Vietnam; her parents, Marcel and Doris LaVallee; and great-nephew, Thomas Lee Hartman.
She enjoyed keeping in contact with relatives, friends and former co-workers via Facebook, emails and texting.
Kimberly was a wonderful person, woman, mother, sister and friend. She will be sorely missed, not only by her family, but also by the many people she came in contact with on a daily basis.
Memorial services celebrating Kim’s life will be held sometime this summer in Connecticut, at a date and place to be determined.
Florida Cremation Society, Ocala, Fla., was entrusted with local arrangements.
