NFA boys roll past East Lyme
Norwich — Aidan Miller made four 3-pointers en route to a 20-point night as Norwich Free Academy rolled to a 47-32 victory over East Lyme in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division boys' basketball game Thursday night.
The Wildcats (10-6, 5-2) remained a game behind first-place Ledyard in the division. They took a 12-4 lead after the first quarter and gradually pulled away from the Vikings (8-7, 2-6).
Cristian Brown scored 16 points to lead East Lyme. In other games: • Eddie Volkerts scored 47 points and had 11 rebounds as Fitch beat Woodstock Academy 76-24 in the ECC Large Division. Fitch is 106 overall and 5-3 in the division.
• Amadi White scored 16 points in Stonington's 62-40 loss to Killingly in the ECC Medium Division. Bobby Atkins and Matt Schmeelk added 10 points each for Stonington (8-9, 4-5). Killingly outscored Stonington 34-14 in the second half.
Girls
• Sloane Sweitzer had 19 points, 17 rebounds and four steals as Old Lyme won for the fifth time in the last six games, beating Westbrook 51-47, in the Shoreline Conference. Audrey Gavin added 15 points for Old Lyme (7-11). Westbrook is 11-7.
• Williams School lost to Chase Collegiate 41-28. Claudia Pagnozzi-Schwam scored 15 points, had seven rebounds and blocked five shots, Amy Burzin had six rebounds and Camryn Werbinski had five rebounds for Williams (3-10).
• Marissa Shirshac scored 21 points as Windham Tech rolled to a 56-37 win over Norwich Tech in the Constitution State Conference East. Madison Bodley scored 15 points for the Warriors, who led 22-21 at the half before.
• Grasso Tech ended its season with a 46-42 overtime loss to Vinal Tech in a CSC game. Tabitha Ford led Grasso (2-18) with 16 points.
