Chelsea Groton Bank’s Marielle Winkelman of Ledyard has been named assistant branch manager of the Groton branch, and Carleen Lee of New London has been named assistant branch manager of the New London branch.
Previously, Winkelman was assistant branch manager at the New London branch, and Lee was assistant branch manager at the Groton branch.

The Southeastern and Central Connecticut offices of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage were named a Platinum Award winner by the Cartus Broker Network for their outstanding performance during the past year. The award was presented at the 2016 Cartus Broker Network International Conference held recently at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Platinum is the highest level of the Excellence Awards presented to principal brokers. Excellence Award recognition is based on performance results related to a wide variety of goals including customer service, cost management, and effective analysis and marketing of homes. Less than 35 percent of the network’s principal brokers achieved Platinum level recognition for their performance in 2015.
Additionally, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Southeastern and Central Connecticut offices were presented the Cartus Five Star Award and the Cartus Affinity Home Event Services Summit Award.

The Annual Groton Business Update, presented by the Groton Business Association of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, will be held Thursday, May 19, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. The event, sponsored by Groton Utilities and hosted by Fairview, will feature five speakers from the local business community, who will focus on the local economy and its future prospects. The Groton Rotary Club has a new sponsor category — the Military Sponsorship, for its Second Annual Golf tournament, scheduled for Friday, June 3, at the Shennecossett Golf Course.
Companies wishing to show their appreciation for our military can purchase a Patriotic Sponsorship for $500. This will cover the greens fees for four military service personnel. The sponsorship also includes signage with the company’s logo and program recognition. The Groton Rotary Club will recruit the military foursomes from the U.S. Naval Submarine Base and from within the community.

Connie Howard of U.S. Properties was the selling agent for New London’s Capitol Theater at 35 Bank St. The buyer, Eric Hamburg, president of Industrial Renaissance LLC, purchased the property for $68,000.
