Chelsea Groton Bank’s Marielle Winkelman of Ledyard has been named assistant branch manager of the Groton branch, and Carleen Lee of New London has been named assistant branch manager of the New London branch.

Previously, Winkelman was assistant branch manager at the New London branch, and Lee was assistant branch manager at the Groton branch.

The Southeaste­rn and Central Connecticu­t offices of Coldwell Banker Residentia­l Brokerage were named a Platinum Award winner by the Cartus Broker Network for their outstandin­g performanc­e during the past year. The award was presented at the 2016 Cartus Broker Network Internatio­nal Conference held recently at the Harbor Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Platinum is the highest level of the Excellence Awards presented to principal brokers. Excellence Award recognitio­n is based on performanc­e results related to a wide variety of goals including customer service, cost management, and effective analysis and marketing of homes. Less than 35 percent of the network’s principal brokers achieved Platinum level recognitio­n for their performanc­e in 2015.

Additional­ly, Coldwell Banker Residentia­l Brokerage’s Southeaste­rn and Central Connecticu­t offices were presented the Cartus Five Star Award and the Cartus Affinity Home Event Services Summit Award.

The Annual Groton Business Update, presented by the Groton Business Associatio­n of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce, will be held Thursday, May 19, from 7:30-9:30 a.m. The event, sponsored by Groton Utilities and hosted by Fairview, will feature five speakers from the local business community, who will focus on the local economy and its future prospects. The Groton Rotary Club has a new sponsor category — the Military Sponsorshi­p, for its Second Annual Golf tournament, scheduled for Friday, June 3, at the Shennecoss­ett Golf Course.

Companies wishing to show their appreciati­on for our military can purchase a Patriotic Sponsorshi­p for $500. This will cover the greens fees for four military service personnel. The sponsorshi­p also includes signage with the company’s logo and program recognitio­n. The Groton Rotary Club will recruit the military foursomes from the U.S. Naval Submarine Base and from within the community.
